I have been thinking to myself there has to be a flooded field somewhere
Around Butler for shorebirds. There’s been so much rain! But I don't
Know the area - that’s why I am doing the big year! Anyway, local birders
Came through! There’s a super spot 1/2 mile from Ellis - just have to keep
An eye out for trains…..4 Stilt Sandpipers, 2 WR Sandpipers, etc. I can’t wait
To explore more! With my late start, birding here first, then scanning Ellis
For the Black necked Stilts, I didn’t have much time for migrants this
Morning. As usual…… I am missing so much! It took three tries to finally
Track the BN Stilts down. They are moving around actively feeding. Moving
Around a lot. Scope desired. Although a fellow birder - Lauren picked them
Up just with her bins! And showed me the spot. Scope desired! Thanks Lauren!
My work tonight - package pick up from a courier at cvg - was canceled. Flight
Was canceled with the storms. Sigh….. because now I have to go there tues.
Am! I'll never get spring migrants!
Good birding all.
