I observed a significant activity increase at the oil sunflower seed feeder
today on my deck in Somerset, Perry County. All the regulars were present,
along with one surprise - a red-breasted nuthatch.
Count for 9-29-2016, 1400-1600; 67 degrees; partly cloudy, off and on rain
showers. Count only from 2 feeders located on deck: oil sunflower and
millet/sunflower mix:
4 Carolina chickadee
4 Tufted titmouse
4 White breasted nuthatch
1 Red breasted nuthatch
14 Cardinal
5 Blue jay
3 Crow
7 Goldfinch
5 House Finch
2 Downy Woodpecker
1 Red breasted woodpecker
3 Chipping sparrow
5 House sparrow
