Greetings----there are some interesting birds in my neck of the woods lately. About a week ago, I heard a n. saw-whet owl in Youngstown. It was around 1:00 AM when it called. I hesitated posting info on the bird, so it could hang out in peace. Just as importantly, I would not recommend any birder go there (after dark especially) without a bodyguard. Seriously. I was in the area on foot looking for a taxi ride home, as my car was stolen in Youngstown that evening. Anyone wishing to know the exact location, email me and I'll be happy to let you know. So I am presently searching for birds very locally only. As in walking distance from home base in Poland Twp. Over the last week highlights have been: 16 wild turkeys, red-shouldered hawks, sharp-shinned hawk, Cooper's hawk (a spectacular kill in the back yard), hairy woodpecker, n. flicker, e. bluebirds, Am. robin, n. mockingbirds, golden-crowned kinglet, Carolina wren, white-throated sparrow, Am. tree sparrows.
 Peace, Craig
