The Great Backyard Bird Count was a good reason to go birding around our
place this morning. Noteworthy:
. First Turkey Vulture of the season flew over the pasture
. Eastern Bluebirds are chasing each other around
. Junco's & Titmice are singing high in the trees around the house
and in the woods
. Northern Flickers doing a 'face-off' atop a dead elm
. Three Red-shouldered Hawks flying together as they screamed their
"Kee-ahh" calls
. Woodpeckers everywhere I walked in the woods (Downy, Hairy,
Red-bellied, Pileated)
It was an awful lot like spring out there this morning!
