Not only doesn't it not sound good it sounds like a wildlife disaster on
unprecedented proportions..  I'm not sure what I can offer to help when the
oil slick hits but perhaps a check to wildlife recovery efforts.   I would
really really appreciate it if some of the more connected birders let us (or
me personally) know of opportunities to help.  I have some vacation saved
and would be willing to go down, drive down supplies, man phone lines, wash
birds, cook for workers, whatever.  But have no idea how to do that.  Though
I think this will be going on for a  long time so opporunities will
continue, if there is any way to find out about them.  Personally I hope
they consider calling out the National Guard to help skim and locate and
wash wildlife.
It may be silly but I do buy Dawn dishwashing liquid just because of their
commercials and promises to help wildlife.  I hope they're making extra.
