I was at Wildwood Park/Villa Angela Park/Euclid Beach Park (part of Euclid Creek Reservation) on the east side of Cleveland today from 10:10am to noon.  The most interesting sighting was as I walked from the mobile home park near Villa Angela I could seen a Merganser swimming near the end of the old Euclid Beach concrete pier and the rockpiles near many Canada Geese.  As I walked down to the pier I could no longer see it but noticed two female Common Mergansers swimming (feeding) east of the pier.  They would dunk their heads under water sometimes in unison.  Then they went up on the beach for 5-10 mins and preened their feathers and then they swam back into Lake Erie.
Also, seen one Caspian Tern fly by Villa Angela and the marina in Wildwood and along Euclid Creek in Wildwood two juvenile Green Herons (with fuzzy hair all around their bodies) in a very large silver maple at the north end of the wetland near the asphalt path.  Only one Spotted Sandpiper.  One annoying Mute Swan continues to spend time on the beach in Villa Angela.
