I have been looking at some of the other lists on this webpage
(Look in the "Search: All Mailing Lists" dropdown at the top of the page).
Most recently I have been checked the "BirdHawk" list. It appears to be
where hawk watch groups post their sightings.

I have checked the lists of sightings made at Presque Isle and a couple of
others made in western Pennsylvania. But, I also looked at the one at
Bentsen Rio Grande Valley State Park in Mission, Texas. It is near the
Texas/Mexico border on the west side of the Gulf of Mexico. Not much has
been reported at this site (which I am thinking is a bottleneck) except for
turkey vultures. I am guessing that, when this Texas site starts reporting
lots of migrating raptors, that we will see more a few days later.

I have also looked at the Borrego Valley hawk watch posts in Borrego
Springs, California, USA (east of San Diego). They have reported hundreds of
Swainson's hawks. Those hawks are headed up the west coast.

It is fun to look at these other lists. I read "Living on the Wind: Across
the Hemisphere With Migratory Birds" by Scott Weidensaul a couple of years
ago. It had some chapters on raptor migration. It is cool to think these
raptors migrate in such huge numbers. We get to see them in the spring and
summer. They go to Central and South America for the rest of the year. I am
especially looking forward to the broad-winged hawks returning. They usually
get here in mid April. A lot of them spend the winter in Columbia. But, some
go to the Caribbean.

I have also looked at the Golden Gate Raptor Observatory's website. They
band raptors and even attach radio/GPS tracking devices to some.

Does anyone else know about other hawk watch websites out there?
I have heard of Hawk Mountain in PA. I have never been there.
