I went birding up in Ashtabula Co. again this morning.  On the way north, I saw a wild turkey in Williamsfield Twp. and an Am. kestrel in Richmond Twp.  I arrived at Conneaut harbor at 6:40 AM, and stayed until 11:00.  I didn't find anything rare there, but there was a nice selection of birds: green heron, double-crested cormorant, 9 bald eagles, Am. coot, least sandpiper, 2 short-billed dowitchers, solitary sandpiper, 2 spotted sandpipers (1 juv.), 2 Caspian terns, e. kingbird, warbling vireo, purple martins, tree swallow, bank swallows, gray catbird, and yellow warbler.  From there I followed up on ebird reports from Dorset WA.  The impoundment closest to Tower Rd. parking lot has low water, and some mudflats.  Found there were 14 least sandpipers, 3 solitary sandpipers, 6 lesser yellowlegs, willow flycatcher, and swamp sparrows.  It was mid-day hot by then so I called it a day.  Craig Holt, Lowellville
