I had basically a full day - for me at least! Headed out to Brown. Seeing what was
Around. Trying for county birds. It’s tough out there! Did pick up Lincoln’s Sparrow.
Good RH Woodpecker numbers there! I always like them. Phoebe, RC Kinglet.
Loads of the breeders. My favorite spot there is the area around 2 ponds I call it.
It’s open, lower vegetation. Sunny edge. I have had good warblers there in the past,
Not today though for some reason. I'll have to spend time here in May. Start getting
Those missing passerines! I was going to walk a couple fields off Turner rd. where
I have had good luck with sparrows before. Only no paths this year! I wasn’t going
To go bushwhacking that much! I would have spent the rest of the day there, but
Since no paths, and getting quiet, I headed to Grant Lake. Hoping for corms.
Success! DC Corm is a Brown county bird. How I missed that last year - not a clue…..
Quiet here too.

Finally some warblers at Bethel Concord rd. East fork. I stopped here on the way
Home trying for an Oct. neotropic. No success. Could still be around. I didn’t have
Much time. Yellow rumps and a common yellowthroat here.

I know I will be spending a lot of time in Butler county next year, so am working on
Different counties this fall.

Nature notes - butterflies everywhere! The usual fall species - Question marks,
A lady, Buckeyes, Monarch’s, Orange and Clouded Sulphurs, etb, pearl crescents,
Etc. etc.

And a dead snake that I will look into iding.

Good birding all.
