Thanks to the recent discussion about the plethora of options for reporting rarities in Ohio, a continuing Spotted Towhee was mentioned in this forum, near Shreve, Wayne County, so got out to see it today.  The Spotted that is there is much lighter on head and back than the male Eastern that was there - I suppose a female then?

Also checked on Long-eared Owl at Mosquito Lake WMA and found 1 still present along North Park Ave.

There were 7 Long-tailed Ducks (highest count I've seen reported of this species from here was 6) at Mosquito Lake Causeway.  There were 5 adult males, 1 adult female and 1 that didn't look like either (young male?).  There were a few other birders there when we were about 2:00 PM, but I didn't get any names.

Followed up the reported field birds along Hayes Rd, Middlefield, Geauga County.  Found about 200 Snow Buntings, about 40 Horned Larks and 1 Lapland Longspur.  There may have been more longspurs; they all flew a few times and I managed to refind one, but never more than one at a time.  Met Mary and Jan here.

Had about 25 Rusty Blackbirds at a friend's feeder in Apple Creek, Wayne County, this morning.
