I spent about 3 hours this morning around the Lake Snowden dam and north, and found a great variety of birdlife.

At the dam, the Grasshopper Sparrow found previously by Phil Cantino gave its presence away by its trill song. Eastern Meadowlark and Blue Grosbeak were singing there as well, while Purple Martins, Barn Swallows, and Northern Rough-winged Swallows were cruising around. A sole Chimney Swift was carefully, wings held up, plunging its belly into the lake; a way to take a bath for this highly aerial species.

On the hilly area in the woods and shrub land to the north of the dam were Indigo Bunting, Yellow-breasted Chat, Common Yellowthroat, and Blue-winged Warbler, all singing at some point. Other notables included a pair of Eastern Kingbirds, and singing Warbling Vireo and Great Crested Flycatcher.

Attached below is the full eBird list.

Best birding--
