Success with the Ross's that Austin found yesterday. That is a nice looking
Area for birding the Great Miami River. I parked at the River Center and
Walked the floodplain south. Not realizing the bike path covers that area….
That would have been easier! Scope needed. It’s in with say a couple
Hundred Canadas. And the geese were moving around a lot. On the floodplain
And the river. This is the town of Middletown. NE Butler.
And Andrew and I had success with Siskin at Elk creek! Yea! We kept scanning
The Goldfinches flocks. Andrew had the sweet gum trees all scouted out! He
Had one before I arrived. And the one later was the green morph. So at least 2.
I am sure more than that around!
Alas, we didn’t have the Red Crossbills! Gone? Us just missing? Time will tell.
215 new goal! That will prove difficult. Would be nice to stop getting my
Daily butler year needs ebird email. With brown creeper on it….. talk about
A big miss! So far….
