When letting the dog out a large raptor, clearly an eagle was soaring east into summit county. Very broad wings, large head led me to suspect a juv bald eagle, until I got the binoculars on it and saw clear white on the rump an base of the tail, the bird did not have the white portions on the bases of the primaries. I could not distinguish the nape color. Do juv bald eagles ever present such a large, clean white rump/base of tail feathers while such a uniform clean upper side of the wing? I did not get the see the underwing, as I live on a rather large hill, and saw the top side of the wing as the bird was turning and flying downhill. It was very low.
