I stopped at a few spots at each of these reservoirs north of Columbus looking for migrants with some success. At Alum Creek lake, I stopped at New Galena boat launch area, then the beach & Visitors' Center, while at Hoover I visited Oxbow Island and the Old Redbank Rd grassflats. Despite the often brisk SSW winds, migrants were peppered throughout the morning, with highlights including:

Terns - 1 Caspian & 7 Commons were with the gull flock at Alum Creek Lake beach. The Redbank gravel bar had 3 Caspians & 3 Black Terns among its gull flock

Shorebirds - the Redbank Rd grassflats had lower #s than last week, with 50 Kildeer, 2 GrYellowlegs, 6 LYellowlegs, 10 Pectoral, 5 Least Sandpipers, and 10 Semipalmated Sandpipers

Flycatchers - highlight were 2 late E.Kingbirds at the beach parking lot at Alum. There were also plenty of WoodPewees, and single Least and E.Phoebe

Vireos - singing Warbling were at the Alum Lake Visitors' Center area, as well as on Oxbow Island. Red-eyed were at several different spots

Swallows - both reservoirs showed a small but steady movement of Barn Swallows headed south, with 12/1 hours around the Alum Beach area and 8/1 hour over the Redbank grassflats

Thrushes - hardly anything, other than small flocks of Robins

Warblers - lots of Magnolias, but little else; Alum had 7+, Hoover had 6 (all at Oxbow). Also had Tennessee at both lakes, CapeMay (AL), Blackburnian (Oxb), Blackpoll (AL), Bay-breasted (AL), and Redstarts (Oxb)
