Hello all,

Last evening, while out birding with my fiancee, we
came across some American Golden Plovers in a cut
field. We couldn't get a good read on quantity last
night (too much traffic for such a small road!) so I
went back this morning (no cars today!). Here is the
rundown:

American Golden Plover - 25 (at least)
Killdeer
Red-tailed Hawk
Tree Swallow
Horned Lark
Savannah Sparrow
Song Sparrow

There could be more in this field - I couldn't get a
good focus in on the birds further out. Could be some
other nice shorebirds, sparrows, or pipits. If
interested in viewing - here is where they are:

DeLorme PG 34, between C3 & D3. Find the Paulding
Reservoir (just west of 127 on the map), the field is
located on T114 - the first road south of the
reservoir. If approaching from 127 - you will pass on
T114 (this will all be on your LEFT) several houses,
then a corn field, then a plowed under field, then it
is the field with the Plovers. If approaching from
C197 (Reservoir road), the Plovers will be in your
first field to the right, but they were located
relatively close to the plowed under field mentioned
above (about 100-200 yards away from it).

Please keep in mind, this is a small road with not
terribly much pull off room and the Plovers are on
private property, so please keep your viewings from
the road. If you need any assistance further - feel
free to contact me off list as I should be around
until the afternoon. Best of luck!

- Scott Myers, Paulding Ohio
