Hi,

The Trumbull County Merlin which reappeared Nov 19, 2009 is still being intermittently seen on the same pre roost tree along the golf course. One used this tree last winter and I presume it is the same bird.

Does anybody have any idea where the wintering Ohio Merlins are from? Could some be more local birds? I know the nesting Peregrines hang around.

I have been birding this area of Trumbull County since 1968, and 2008 was the first time I witnessed a wintering Merlin in this locale.
