The birding was slow today, but a whip-poor-will was spotted just west
of #5 on the south side of the boardwalk. The kinglets seemed to have
moved out, but there seemed to be more white throated sparrows today.
So, maybe this weather did move a few things. The first south winds
that we get I expect we will see some new birds.
Also the west side of the main marsh is being drawn down, so look for
shorebirds as you go down the road. Please use the pull-offs provided
instead of blocking the road.
If it is raining out, stop in the Bird Center to rest and view
"Watching Warblers" , an excellent film that includes all of the sights
and sounds of the eastern warblers. Coffee and donuts are available on
weekends. Bring your bird photos in to post on the Bird Board.
The complete schedule of area events for International Migratory Bird
Day, May 8th, is now available. Stop in the Bird Center to get one or
you may request one be mailed to you.
Check the website to find out details of what is happening at Magee
Marsh www.friendsofmageemarsh.org
