I also braved the trip to E 72nd street yesterday afternoon (Sunday 1-18).
Dove along N Marginal Road hoping to spot an owl. Missed the owl however did
see a Northern Mockingbird perched in a tree a few feet from the road (just
E of Burke).

At E 72nd

To say there were a lot of gulls close to the shore would be an
understatement.

Seeing a Cackling Goose standing next to a greater black-backed gull was a
first.

For whatever reason did not notice the ducks until the light was being lost
and it was beginning to get cold (colder). A quick look turned up:

Canvasback 3
Redhead 10
Greater Scaup 2
Lesser Scaup 18
Bufflehead 1

Mute Swan 3
