I made a quick check of the Deer Creek Reservoir this afternoon. The LONG-TAILED DUCK drake reported yesterday is still present. There isn't much open water left, but all the waterfowl species reported yesterday were still using it. The area is easily scoped from the bluff at the first picnic spot south of the beach gate. Gulls were few, though, and only a handful of Ring-billeds were there. The water in the river below the dam wall is open, but only a single Bufflehead drake and a few G. Blue Herons were there. I didn't hang around to look for the shrike, and was wondering if anyone has seen it recently.
