Cleveland birding today (Sept 13): Dozens of warblers at Wendy Park,
10-noon. Mostly flitting and hiding to avoid photographs. Identified 10
species, missed others for sure. The immature chesnut-sideds with yellow
wing bars were glorious. Only pic obtained was a Cape May. 3 vireo species,
3 mockingbirds, a pair of peregrines atop the drawbridge near the mouth of
Cuyahoga, an osprey, 2 red-breasted nuthatches, among the highlights. Also
dozens of monarch butterflies. Most of the good sized crowd there were for
the butterflies. Quieter at Erie St Cemetery, added another warbler (palm).
42 species for the day.
