I stopped by Berliner Park this morning before the snowy roads became problematic, and easily relocated the adult male White-winged Scoter reported yesterday. It was in the first pool just below the dam, which also held Common Goldeneye and Hooded Mergansers. There were several other open areas downstream along the Berliner Park bikepath, but the waterfowl were rather thin in numbers, with a few more Goldeneye and Hoodies, along with several flocks of Mallards & geese. An adult Bald Eagle was sitting and calling in a tall cottonwood down where the trail opens out into fields.
