Here's a link to an interesting bird counting game. I haven't seen this site on the Internet in several years. There used to be a web ite where you could compare your best scores to everyone else's around the world, but that site has been down for several years now. Vic Fazio originally brought this game to our attention with that site. At least the game itself is available again at the following link :

http://personal.inet.fi/cool/live/birds/index.html

It's all in Finnish (I think). To play the game press the "new game" button. After a flock of birds flies by type your estimated guess in the blank space then hit "OK". After 5 flocks your score comes up. It can have practical use for estimating flying flocks of birds at various speeds and densities. You can at least keep track of your own best scores. Trying to guess all 5 flocks to within 10% accuracy is a good starting point. Getting all 5 flocks under 5% involves some luck I think, but it's fun trying.
