I couldn't resist heading out on this warm afternoon! I was basically
Prepared for my trip. I walked the north woods area at Fernald. That 
Small part is Butler county. Mainly woods, but some fields and 
Successional areas. The only bird new was the Barred Owl. It sang
A couple times. It was fairly birdy there, but all the usuals. I was
Hoping for Red headed Woodpecker. In my limited time here, that
Was a good spot. Not so now. I'll have to check my records and see
What month I have had them there. 6 White breasted Nuthatches we’re
Nice. Almost ties my high count for a single location - which is 7. Towhees
Singing. A nice afternoon! No Woodcock, Creeper, or GC Kinglet though.
When I get back, I'll still be after waterfowl. I want to hit Hueston Woods
More. American Wigeon was reported again today at Ellis Wetlands. 
I need that one still!
