It looks like this might be a very good year for migrating southbound shorebirds in NE Ohio.  I just talked to Ryan Golterman, he is at Mosquito L. and there is good habitat there with both yellowlegs and solitary sandpiper present.  Evans L. in Mahoning Co. is down (a rare event there) per Jeff Harvey and Bob Lane.  Berlin was already getting low when I was there a few weeks ago, so that site is looking promising too.  Of course, Conneaut harbor will attract it's share of shorebirds also; right now is a very good time to look for willet there, and Am. avocet, whimbrel, marbled godwit and others could be making appearances there soon.  Craig H
