Yesterday, while traveling on the 711 connector on the North side of
Youngstown, I watched two American Crows harassing a Red-tailed Hawk. They
were all in flight. The hawk was carrying what appeared to be a rat. I'm
guessing the crows were looking for an easy lunch, but the hawk was to fast
for them.

Shortly afterward, a large, dark bird caught my eye on the other side of
the road. A Wild Turkey was feeding on the grassy area about 100' from the
road. It appeared to be a male (it had a pronounced beard). I could only
catch a glimpse as there was traffic around me at this point. A large, open
industrial area is nearby, but woods dot the landscape. I know turkeys live
in other areas of the city, but, as far as I know, this is the first one at
this location.
