When I saw the thrasher first on July 25, it looked pretty newly fledged--so fluffy that I couldn't see the speckles on its breast. I saw it again on July 27 and August 11. When I saw it on Thursday, it was sunning itself after a rain. The speckles were and long tail and even the weird eyes were visible. The strange thing is that I had not seen or heard adult Brown Thrashers since May.
