Quiet but pleasant walk this morning. Worth it for nice looks at a Barred Owl which perched briefly to look me over before heading for thicker cover. Always special.
It was interesting that a Scarlet Tanager started chik-burring right then. I never saw it but it sounded like it was near the area I had seen the Barred Owl fly towards. Haven’t heard or seen a scarlet tanager for awhile so nice to hear. Then some titmice started up but the owl seemed to escape notice by the jays & crows.
The other highlight was a mink scurrying onto the path then stopping to evaluate if I was a threat before continuing on out of sight.
Not many birds. Pretty much the same as the last few visits, mostly heard.
