Comments:     the first 2 1/2 ours were spent on the 50' observation platform counting migrating birds. After a little time was spent on the Lane Road trails and also the observation deck there counting migrating hawks. Strong southeast winds.

Laughing Gull  2     Two adult laughing gulls passed by heading west. They were together. Both had black heads, dark gray wings blending into an all black wingtip. There was no white on the wingtip. The tail and belly were white.

Short-eared Owl  1     A short-eared owl was observed flying in the field south of the Lane Road trail. The bird landed on a snag, where it remained for close to 2 hours
