Traveling up to the Detroit area last Friday morning, saw seven eagles, adults and juveniles, in one tree at the lake south of Findlay at the Route 15/68 curve, not far from the big nest there at Eagle Creek. A little further on, saw two adults on a borrow pit lake west of I-75 just south of Bowling Green. Across the state line, saw 4 nests in the Monroe and Luna Pier areas (no foliage!) and the nest closest to the freeway had at least one bird sitting on it. Coming back on Sunday, as soon as I got into Toledo an adult eagle flew over the Jeep plant and over the freeway fairly low. At the Route 15/68 curve there was one juvenile sitting in a tree on the lake.
Unrelated to all of that, had a nice yard bird yesterday morning: a pileated woodpecker.
