Did some trekking yesterday to add to my January 100 list--only at 68 so far. Found a pair of adult Bald Eagles at Nimisilia Reservoir south of Akron. They were on the large island at the south end of the reservoir. A local resident told me they had been in the area all winter. I was able to see them with a spotting scope from the boat launch area on Christman Rd. There is open water near the island.
Seen at Nimisilia-
Bald Eagles
Blue Birds
C Geese
Mallards
Mute Swans
Hairy WP
Swung past Summit Lake on the way home--small spot of open water on the west side of the lake.
Seen at Summit Lake-
C Geese
Mallards
Coots
N Shovelers
Red-tailed Hawk
I doubt that I'll hit 100 for January--but I got to pet 2 rhinos last week. The baby rhino nibbled at my fingers. That'll do rhino, that'll do.
Good birding-
