I had to run errands at Easton so I stopped by Blendon Woods on the way home to see if I could see the Purple Finch reported there yesterday. After watching the feeder at Thoreau Lk for awhile with no success I made a quick stop at the nature center. There was a hairy woodpecker at one of the feeders then I just happened to look up at the right moment and there was a male Purple Finch perched on a small tree behind the feeders. I needed one for the year so that was great!
