After a lengthy absence, or so I thought, the Northern Shrike showed up on my property in Homerville. I have also had a pair of kestrels hunting regularly and wasn't sure if
the competition, not to mention rising snow levels, might have caused
it to move on. It flew in toward my feeders around 10:30A, poked around in a pine for a few seconds before it was disturbed by jays and I lost sight of it. Anyone wishing to try their luck for the bird should email me privately.
