I’ve been away on a foreign bird trip and was surprised to return to what seems like a delayed and chilly spring in N Ohio.

However, on a dusk walk on the MetroPark Bike Trail off Hudson Dr last night, I was delighted to hear the familiar “peent” call of at least one Am Woodcock followed by a few aerial flight twitterings.

I wasn’t able to spot any birds in flight as I was mostly blocked by trees but will try again tonight.

Pretty cool as this spot is near fairly busy Hudson Dr as well as Rt 8.
