Blendon Woods Metro Park is located in the northeast corner of
Columbus off of I 270 & Rte 161. Take the Little Turtle Way exit. Below is
a list of some of the Birds seen lately at Blendon Woods Metro Park
Thoreau Lake
Common Merganser-2 males
Greater Scaup-3
Lesser Scaup-1
American Black Duck-98
Mallard-72
Green-winged Teal-3
American Wigeon-3
Gadwall-6
Bird Feeders-Nature Center, East Blind-Thoreau Lake, Picnic
areas
E Towhees-males & females
Dark-eyed Juncos
White-throated Sparrow
American Tree Sparrow
Lake Trail
Red-headed Woodpecker-young getting Adult plumage
Nature Center Bird Viewing Area
Hairy Woodpecker
Cooper's Hawk
Turkeys-hanging out 40 yards east of Bird Window on
downed trees after eating
Barred Owl-active along Hickory Ridge Trail, Ripple Rock Trail,
& the beginning of Sugarbush Trail
Turkeys-everywhere. They go from one Bird feeder to the next. We
have seen up to 50+ in one flock. They are in male flocks and female/young
flocks
