Greetings to all!

We finally have a chance to post this evening, so a few quick updates:

#1) East 72nd street (Cleveland) was absolutely loaded with gulls today. Glaucous Gull (at least 10 of different ages), Iceland Gull (at least 3 of different ages), Lesser Black-backed Gull (1 adult), Thayer's Gull (2, adult and 1st year), at least 1 adult Nelson's Gull and tons of Bonaparte's Gulls. There were most likely many more interesting gulls in the area. Lots of great waterfowl to the east of the area around Gordon Park and the marina including at least 3 Long-tailed Ducks, a Red-necked Grebe and many diving ducks.

#2) One beautiful adult, female Merlin was seen at Clavary Cemetery (Cuyahoga Co.). It was seen at the far, east end of the cemetery (section 90). It perched in a small spruce, that we were parked next to, for over 1/2 hour. It was extremely close and provided excellent views. We first spotted it when it came hurtling across the cemetery and started chasing a juv. Cooper's Hawk.

We just got to Columbus this evening and we'll be trying for the Kittiwake and Dickcissel in the morning and will try to get out updates if we see anything.

We are up to 80 species as of this evening and hopefully we'll be up to at least 90 or so by the end of tomorrow.

Good birding,

Jason
