The Columbus Audubon Avid Birders trip yesterday (Saturday, August 29)
visited Sheldon Marsh, Cedar Point Road (the old Cedar Point Chausee), Pipe
Creek, and Pickerel Creek. Here's a quick summary; a full list will be on
the Columbus Audubon Web site later today.

Sheldon Marsh: nice assortment with 11 warbler species, three vireos, and
the expected residents. Nothing spectacular, but a fine morning of birding.

Cedar Point: completely flooded, nothing of interest

Pipe Creek: pretty much flooded; path closed for hunting (but we thought
that hunting season didn't start yet?). Give water snakes sunning on rocks
were pretty cool, though!

Pickerel Creek: excellent shorebirds continue here, with a total of fifteen
species. Highlights were several white-rumped sandpipers and a Wilson's
phalarope.

We had 82 species for the day. For more information, see the Columbus
Audubon Web site: http://columbusaudubon.org/
