Highlights of a 90-minute walk this morning around the CVNP's Coliseum grasslands near Richfield and a foray into adjacent woodland included three Wilson's Snipe and 14 Eastern Meadowlark. I also had a single individual of the Ammodramus Genus of sparrows, either a Grasshopper or a Henslow's, but it flushed briefly only once and never sang. In either case, it would be an early one.
