Three of us were birding at Buck Creek State Park in Clark County this
morning when we heard some Pine Siskins. We were along the gravel lane near
the north end of Grant Road on the east side of the park. They were in some
sweetgum trees loaded with seeds. It took us several minutes of looking
through goldfinches to finally see some of the siskins.

There are now extensive mudflats at the north end of the lake. The last
couple weekends we have seen hundreds of Killdeer and 40 to 75 Dunlins but
no other shorebirds. There are still some cormorants hanging around.
