Spent the day driving around today to see what was out and about in the
areas to the west. 38 species total doing lazy birding a drive-by. It seemed
oddly quite just about everywhere we went.
Highlights include:
8 American Kestrels
13 Red Tailed Hawks
6 Great Blue Herons
5 Bald Eagles
23 Black Crowned Night Herons - Bayshore
1 Great Egret - Bayshore

Lowlights include finding 2 owls that had been struck by cars on Route 2.
Stopped at the BSBO to let them know about both.
1 Northern Saw Whet Owl just slightly east of Magee Marsh (of course it's
my first one this year...)
1 Great Horned Owl just west of the Lucas County Sheriff's Office

Good Birding.

Danno
