There was a possible Ross’s Goose with the 400 or so Canada geese at Cowan Lake this afternoon. The geese were mostly resting on the ice near the island below the campground cabins. The white goose with dark primaries had a head shape more consistent with Ross’s than Snow, and had a rather short bill. At the distance I was viewing, though, it could have been a hybrid.

Other birds:
2 Red-breasted Merganser
6 Hooded Merganser
1 Ruddy Duck
1 Lesser Scaup
3 Common Goldeneye,
1 Adult Bald Eagle
