Eastlake appeared empty today but then turned out to be very productive with a bit of patience.? The best birds were:

2 Black-crowned Night-herons which flew over and then landed in the boat storage area east of the Eastlake fishing area.

1 Red-necked Grebe - this bird was first seen yesterday by Jeanne Hrenko

1 immature male White-winged Scoter in changing plumage

Other birds included:
1 Pied-billed Grebe
a few Bufflehead
a few Common Goldeneyes
several groups of American Coots
courting Red-breasted and Hooded Mergansers
small numbers of gulls, a couple of them Great Black-backed
