Well, Santa brought me the Gull and Shorebird guides I asked and I am
delighted with both. Thanks to those who helped me make my choices.

Santa also left $30 of gift cards to iTunes and suggested I might want to
purchase an app for birding. Reviewing the apps left me confused. If you
have used any birding apps for the iPad I welcome your comments (I don't
have any other Apple products). I already have 4 paper guides to the birds
of North America and many specific guides to Hawks, Warblers, Gulls, etc. I
can't see carrying my iPad into the field (after binocs, camera, spotting
scope and tripod I feel the need for a Sherpa). It may be that I spend the
money on something else. We'll see.

Thanks,

Matt Valencic
