Too nice out! I thought about hitting Caesar creek and that furnace rd. spot
Again - to scan the flock well with no wind. But decided against it because
Of the distance involved. It’s 45 minutes or so. 10 minutes or so into my drive
To Furfield in butler, I get the message of no big flock anymore at furnace.
Too many boaters on the lake! Yep - nice weather is not the best for the birds.
Anyway, 1 Common Loon and 8 Lesser Scaup at Furfield. No gulls.
I haven’t seen gulls in awhile. Where did they go??
Ellis wetlands was a lake. I figured that. Scanning from the Firebird Dr. area
Yielded 63 GW Teal. I am sure a lot more there - I will scan from the Seward
Rd. Side next time. No herons or egrets. Wood Duck, BW Teal, Shovelers there.
Hit a couple other spots. Botany more than anything. Purple Cress and
Spring Beauty are showing nicely. I had 2 Eastern Commas at Indian Creek metro
Park.
Good birding all.
