Greetings,

With all the rain some of the small ponds have flooded their banks creating great habitat. Yesterday evening we spotted three green herons at such a location along Denman Road, Wakeman, Lorain County. The location is just off of US Route 60 South of Birmingham. This is an ideal location for migrating birds as it's pretty secluded and has tall grasses along the edge for hiding/feeding. Closer to home we have a plethora of male / female purple finches and gold finches . All woodpeckers are present at the feeders, downy, hairy, red bellied, along with a Pileated that showed up this morning (not on the feeder but right off the deck.) Great to have something to view with all this rain. Will it ever end!

My humming bird feeder is up. So the invitation has been extended with no takers.
Happy Birding
Dorothy
