I walked along the bike path in the Ohio and Erie Canal Reservation from
Bacci Park to the fishing pond near the RR bridge. Lots of birds out today
in the relatively warm weather.

The "best" birds were near the waste water treatment outlet in the Cuyahoga
River:

3 Common Goldeneye (1 male, 2 female)
2 Hooded Merganser (1 male, 1 female)
Maybe 200 mallards close to and just down river from the outlet
Maybe 300 cormorants farther down the river from the mallards
1 adult and 1 immature Bald Eagle perched in the big cottonwoods near the river
1 Peregrine Falcon on a power line tower across/west of the river near the
outlet
1 American Kestrel on a power line tower near the treatment plant
2 red-tailed hawks perched in the trees near the outlet
(I am guessing that the predators were there for the ducks.)

Other birds:
5 Northern Mockingbirds
1 American Kestrel just across Canal Road from Bacci Park
2 Carolina wrens

I also saw some gulls that were smaller than the ring-billed gulls. But,
they may have just been small ring-billed gulls. If someone with better gull
ID experience visits the area around the waste water treatment outlet, maybe
they could keep their eyes on the gulls. There are a lot of them. At first I
thought one was a Bonaparte's because of the size. But, after watching it
with my binoculars, it looked like a small ring-billed gull.

I also saw what could have been a Cackling Goose in the river near the
outlet. It was near some Canada Geese. It was significantly smaller and had
a very stubby bill.
