In my original post, I didn't say I saw all of the birds on the same day or in the same state. I saw the hermit thrush and catbird in Ohio near Seneca Lake.

When I report a really rare bird during the CBC in Pennsylvania I realize that I would need to have it confirmed by someone else. The brown trasher almost flew into the windshield of our car as it flew from one brush pile to another one across a road and I told another birder to check it out who was walking nearby . I know a report of a bobolink will not be accepted on my word alone so I told the other birders working the same area to go a check it out. They did not see it so it wasn't reported on the list.
