After seeing Lynn Champney’s post about this licking county location, I got around to checking it out today. While I saw Lapland Longspurs, they were not in high numbers, maybe 10-15 at once.
Best was a skittish group of 20 Snow Buntings. I first saw them perched on some wires but I also saw them on the road and out in the corn stubble. They were preening and feeding in the corn stubble until a N Harrier appeared and they flushed. Such pretty birds—always a treat.
Horned Larks in small groups were easy to find. Only other bird of note was a N Mockingbird in a bush at one of the houses.
Scanned for Short-eared Owls but no luck.
