I read here that a search of eBird records was being considered in order
to find out if a sighting of a short-billed dowitcher yesterday was
significantly late. Based on a database I consulted, the answer is no. I
found a couple of Ohio records from 22 October, for example. I humbly
submit that a search of eBird is unlikely to produce much data beyond
the most recent few years, even of extremes. It is a loooong way from
having data of this kind.
