The American Avocet found earlier this evening, Wednesday; by Ben Morrison, and reported on Bobolink Area Of Ohio Facebook, was still present at 7:15PM and again at 8:00PM. This unusual summer visitor is in gorgeous breeding plumage. The celebrity was in a roadside field sky pond on the north side of SR619, east of the town of Marlboro, and about three quarters of a mile west of Reeder Avenue, in the company of Mallards, Killdeers, a Spotted Sandpiper, and some Barn Swallows. There is a paved pull-off adjacent on the south side of the road for close viewing. Hopefully the avocet hangs around until tomorrow.
