It is presently 11Am friday morning at the sandspit. There are at least 6 Red Phalaropes in the area; 4 at the public beach and 2 at the sandspit; plus 1 Red-necked Phalarope at the beach. The Brant plus loads of shorebirds are here in the pouring down rain, has not let up since our arrival at 8:30AM. We have had 33 species this morning and will post the highlights later.
